Wii Motion Plus Review

So yeah, I just bought Nintendo's newest little device called Wii Motion Plus with its purpose to increase accuracy and enhance play control on compatible games as said on the back of the box. Now I cant say much yet due to there only being three games yet released using Motion Plus capabilities. That being Grand Slam Tennis, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010, and Virtua Tennis 2009. I have only played Grand Slam Tennis for this review. I tried the game using the Motion Plus and without out it for comparison. Without Motion Plus, the game basically felt like Wii Sports Tennis. But with Motion Plus, it was a whole different experience. The increase of accuracy was amazing, the character on screen mimicked most of your movements while without Motion Plus, it didn't mimic any movements. Wii Motion Plus is a great little device for a fairly cheap price. If your somebody who doesn't like to move at all and just move your wrist a little, then i don't recommend it.

Left 4 Dead 2!!

The Microsoft Press Conference at this years E3 was pretty amazing. One game that I didn't really expect to see but hoped to see at E3 was a sequel to Valve studios Left 4 Dead. Surprisingly Left 4 Dead 2 did make an appearance at the Microsoft Conference as an Xbox 360 and PC Exclusive Title. Makes me proud to be a Xbox 360 owner. From the looks of it, the game will mostly take place during the day and will have a wider variety of weapons at your disposal including frying pans, axes, baseball bats, and chainsaws. In the HD Trailer below, it shows the game to be released on November 17. I know one thing, Ill be keeping a close watch on where this title will go.

E3s Biggest Heart Breaker

One of the games I was most excited to see was the Xbox 360 title Alan Wake. The game did make an appearance at the Microsoft Press Conference and it looks like they took there time at trying to make it perfect. But then at the end of the demo they announced it to release in 2010. WHY!!!. Its E3s biggest heart breaker.

Red Steel 2 Lookin Awsome

Not much has been said about the sequel to the Wii exclusive Red Steel. But I can say one thing about it...Sweet!!!. From the looks of the trailer, the game is going to focus on the Wii Motion Plus for its sword play. I highly doubt those are actual in-game graphics, but who knows. The game looks like its taking a modern western kind of vibe. We will probably learn a lot more when E3 comes by tomorrow. Check out this Red Steel 2 Debut Trailer in HD.

Is Alan Wake still Awake?

Many great games are going to be at E3 next week and I'm excited to see the gameplay footage. But something got me thinking about that old game known as Alan Wake. Back when the first trailer was shown my thoughts were "Hey, that looks cool" and then I forgot about it until now. I don't know practically anything about the game but from the looks of it, its gonna be sweet with a capital S. Every time i watch the latest trailer I get chills. My answer for the question: "Is Alan Wake still Awake?" is 99 percent Yes. Due to that being the chance of Alan Wake making a appearance at E3 this year. I really hope I'm not wrong.

Fable 2 "See the Future" DLC review

Fable 2's much anticipated "See the Future" DLC has gotten some mixed reviews and I can see why. The small amount of missions the DLC gives are pretty short and could be completed in a matter of two hours. Previous DLC Knothole Island wasn't that long either but it wasn't as short as See The Future. It has a total of four quests, but I only think of it as two because the other two aren't actual quests. In one, all you do is control your character by walking about eight feet and the other is just an arena which you can visit and play in whenever you want. All the playable content in this DLC are played through cursed objects given to you by, who other than Murgo. Yes Murgo, the crazy salesman who sold you the cursed music box in the beginning of the game. First, is the cursed snowglobe. Inside is a black and white town trying to regain its color back with great use of blue, yellow, and red coloring. The second and not so great quest has you enter a cursed skull. This quest has you finding various costumes and using different expressions to proceed on. This next "quest" is one of the selling points which is Seeing The Future of Albion. I have to say its kind of disappointing. Now I wont spoil anything, but this interactive cutscene is very brief and if you daze off for just the slightest second you ll miss everything. Once the vision is over, you cant go back. The last "quest" is what all hardcore Fable players have been waiting for, which is the coliseum. This ancient battle arena has you fight against increasingly difficult hordes of enemies until time runs out. After time runs out you are given a prize or prizes depending on how well you did. You can revisit or play in this arena as many times as you want. Murgo doesn't just sell what has already been told. He also sells many tattoos, hair styles, clothes and potions. The other major selling point of this DLC are the new dog breeds. I was some what pleased and disappointed at the same time. Pleased because having a new breed of dog is kind of cool. Disappointed because there are only three new breeds available including Bloodhound, Dalmatian, and Husky. Also included is the Mutt potion which is used to turn your dog back to its original form. Bloodhound and Dalmatian are cool looking with Dalmatian being my favorite. But I was most looking forward to the Husky which I was the most disappointed in due to it just looking odd and for some reason they gave it a weird black tongue which I cant look past. Along with everything are some new achievements as well. This is overall a decent DLC with a good amount of new content including quests, dog breeds, costumes, a hardcore battle arena, collectibles, and a glimpse of the future all for 560 Microsoft Points. If your looking for some new playable content for Fable 2, its definitely worth a purchase.

DOGS RULE!!!!!

While playing large quantities of games, I noticed dogs appearing in many recent titles. For instance, Fable 2 included probably one of the biggest selling points of the game which is your unnamed dog. Another is your scrapyard pooch named Dogmeat (or as I like to call him Deadmeat because he dies so quickly) featured in Fallout 3. Finally would be in Call of Duty: World at War. In CoD 4 there were dogs present in the single player campaign but in CoD 5 the new "Call in The DOGS!!!" option replaced Helicopters in the multiplayer. Let's hope we see some dogs in future games.

Fallout 3 Broken Steel DLC Review

****MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS****
Finally, the 3rd Fallout 3 DLC that everyone has been waiting for has arrived and it's pretty good. First of all, everyone has been saying that this DLC is longer than the previous two DLCs released and I have to disagree. With the level cap now being raised to 30, definitely will have you back in the Capitol Wasteland for a long, long time. But quest wise, the amount of time it took me to finish the new quests that came with Broken Steel took me about the same time it took me to finish the other DLCs like The Pitt. While Operation Anchorage and The Pitt started with you answering to a distress call from an unknown location, you have to start Broken Steel by loading a saved game from sometime near the end. Once completing the game you wake up two weeks later to be greeted by Elder Lyons, but I wont give to much away. The basic point of this DLC is to wipe out the Enclave completely and you'll meet up with some old friends along the way such as Liberty Prime and Fawkes (if you chose for him to come with you). There are a total of three action-packed main quests, a few side quests and some quests in which you can choose to find and bring things back in return for some caps. There are some new weapons like the Heavy Incinerator and Tesla Cannon. Along with some new enemies like the tough Feral Ghoul Reavers. Along with the new level cap come some new perks and by some I mean a lot. But my personal favorite is called Puppies!. If your pooch companion Dogmeat died sometime in your journey then you can travel and find a fresh batch of puppies! waiting for you outside Vault 101. Broken Steel is definitely worth a buy for any Fallout 3 fan and the addition of the increased level cap should keep you coming back for more.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena Review

After five years of waiting, a sequel has finally appeared for the 2004 hit game The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay. The game includes multiplayer, a touched up version of Escape From Butcher Bay which even though touched up still shows its age, and the brand new sequel Assault on Dark Athena. Now many people will find the sequel disappointing because for the most part it takes what everyone loved from the first game and gets rid of it completely. At the beginning it starts off all sneaky with you lurking in the darkness and shanking your enemies in the head which is what made the first game so popular. But the more and more the game progresses the more it drops the stealth and picks up the run and gun type of gameplay mostly because the second half of the game takes place outside during the day time. I don't have a problem with that because I'm a hardcore fan run and gun gameplay, but fans of the stealthy gameplay from the first game will be disappointed. Some new guns are introduced such as the SMG and SCAR gun which are both fun to use. Something that pulled me toward the sequel was interesting characters. The first game had some great characters but I found myself being way more interested in Dark Athena's characters. Characters such as a little girl named Lynn who is hiding from the drones she calls monsters and the psychotic captain of the Dark Athena, Revas. I started to enjoy Dark Athena more than Butcher Bay, which is saying alot, and then towards the end it's almost like the creators of the game kind of gave up. Towards the end you encounter mini bosses called Alpha Drones which are kind of cool to kill. Before the game ends you encounter this enemy like six more times which is really annoying and begins to show the games weaknesses. The game also includes multiplayer which includes the same old team deathmatch and deathmatch modes. One of the more creative modes called Pitch Black puts one player as Riddick with his eyeshine ability and sharp Ulaks, while the other players are regular soldiers equipped with guns and their flashlights. The only objective is to find and kill Riddick. Whoever kills Riddick becomes him the next round. It took me about two days to beat both games and that's with taking breaks. If you haven't played Butcher Bay you should definitely give this game a pickup and if you have then its still worth a try with two full games and multiplayer its a great package.

F.E.A.R 2, Toy Soldiers Map Pack Review

Monolith just released its first map pack for F.E.A.R 2 and its great. The map pack includes three new maps including: Full Tilt, Cockroach, and Recess. These arnt no ordinary maps, these maps turn you into mini replicas thus the name Toy Soldiers. So that means everything seems huge in your eyes with Full Tilt putting you in a pinball machine, Cockroach putting you in a bloody hospital room making you climb up electrical cords, jump on band-aid boxes, etc. and Recess putting you in a sandbox filled with large sand castles, mini green toy soldiers, and colorful toys. This map pack is creative, fun and worth downloading. It is now availible for a FREE download so give it a try.

My Top 5 Favorite Video Game Bosses

***WARNING*** MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

One thing I love about video games if they are done correctly are the bosses. These are my 5 favorite bosses:

1. The End (Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater).....Even though I last played this game about 4 or 5 years ago, I still remember this boss battle more than anything else throughout the game. As of right now the old sniper wielding/bearded man with the parrot known as The End, is my all time favorite boss.

2. GLaDOS (The Orange Box: Portal).....Portal was a amazingly addictive game with its unique gameplay and GLaDOS's hilarious comments. Fighting the comedic/singing robotic operating system while she mocks you was a great and fun way to end the game.

3. Hydra (God of War).....The Hydra was one of the first bosses of the game and one of the best. This huge, mythological, oceanic creature reminds me to this day why I love God of War.
4. Irving (Resident Evil 5).....RE5 was packed full of great and memorable boss battles, but I would have to say that the battle with crazy man Irving was my favorite. It was hard to choose, but the thought of fighting this gigantic, tentacle wielding sea creature (Irving affected by the virus) while in the rain, on a boat supplied with turrets and plenty of heart-stopping dodge out of the way moments, made my decision easy.

5. The Berserkers (Gears of War).....From the start I knew I had to feature a boss from GOW. I thought long and hard about this and I was stuck on either choosing General RAAM, who is the ultimate badass villain featured in a video game, or the Berserkers, who are not necessarily main bosses but more like mini-bosses, and my final conclusion was the Berserkers. I chose the Berserkers because the moments with the huge and psycho buffed out creatures were the most intense and fun moments of the game. Every time you would meet up with these guys all you had to remember to do is to not get in the way when they sprint towards you breaking through walls and causing havoc.

What are some of your favorite bosses?

Fallout 3: It's Hard Being The Bad Guy

Now I was a little late to get the amazing RPG known as Fallout 3. But recently while playing I got to the section when you get mentally transported to a place known as Tranquility Lane. While there you meet a small demented little girl(actually a man) named Betty. The whole reason your here in the first place is to find your long lost dad. Once you meet Betty she makes you perform a certain amount of tasks in order to get information about your dad's whereabouts. Your first task is to make little Timmy Neusbaum cry which you can do by succeeding in telling him his family is getting a divorce or you can just punch him. Next, you must make Mr. and Mrs. Rockwell get divorced which I did by going to the Simpson's house getting the underware located upstairs and then putting the underware on Mr. Rockwell's desk in the basement of their home and then telling Mrs. Rockwell to go to the basement letting her see the underware. The next task is to kill Mabel Henderson in a creative way, beating her to death just wont do it. To do this I went inside her house and went up the stairs, while up there I hopped on the chandelier and loosened the screws. After that I just waited for her to walk in the house and below the chandelier, and when she was below I jumped on the chandelier causing it to collapse on top of her. NOTE: there are other ways to kill her. The last task was to retrieve a mask and knife to become the myth known as The Pint Sized Slasher and kill everyone in Tranquility Lane. I called this post "IT'S HARD BEING THE BAD GUY" because I personally could not mentally handle killing all the innocent people of Tranquility Lane. NOTE: Doing all these tasks does lower your good karma greatly. Now if you don't want to do any of these tasks you can easily do the following: Enter the abandoned house, then activate the following objects in order: radio, pitcher, garden gnome, pitcher, cinderblock, garden gnome, bottle. Once doing this, a static like terminal will appear, once entering in choose the "Chinese Invasion" option and that's it. After leaving the house you will see a bunch of Chinese soldiers shooting the citizens. Go up to Betty and get the information you want from her. TIP: Never hit Betty throughout your stay at Tranquility Lane because she will automatically kill you. Going the abandoned house route will gain you good karma. Once complete, go through the door in the middle of the playground to exit Tranquility Lane and meet with your dad.

####SPOILER ALERT####: Your dad is the dog chilling in the playground the whole time.

The Top 5 Things That Should be Incuded in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

1. Taliban Zombies.......Call of Duty 5 included the new mode Nazi Zombies and I would really like to see it again but with a modern twist.

2. The Same Multiplayer.......Call of Duty 4&5 had some of the best multiplayer I ever played and I would really like it to stay the same.

3. The Awesome Sniper/Stealthy Mission.......Call of Duty 4 had the sniper/stealthy All Ghillied Up that was almost every ones favorite mission of the game, and then Call of Duty 5 recreated that mission with Vendetta, a less satisfying World War 2 version of All Ghillied Up. I would really like to see a sniper/stealth mission in the next installment.

4. Cinematic Moments.......The Call of Duty series has always used cinematic moments to keep the player on the edge and Call of Duty 6 should be no different. These moments include falling helicopters, collapsing buildings, and a nuclear bomb destroying a whole town in real time.

5. New Perks.......Call of Duty 4 brought the concept of Perks to multiplayer which gives you upgrades that help you in unique ways. In Call of Duty 6 I would like to see some new and more creative perks to be added to your advantage.

WHAT WOULD YOU WANT CALL OF DUTY 6 TO INCLUDE?

Xbox 360 Motion Sensing Controller....REALLY!!!

Microsoft has announced the creation of the Xbox 360 motion sensing controller which is a Wiimote look alike. This remote is going to be used for some Xbox Live Arcade games and some how is going to be featured in the game Banjo and Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. From the start, I always wanted the Xbox controller to have some kind of feature similar to the Playstation 3's Xaxis controller. As of right now I'm not sure if any games are going to be made especially for this remote but I predict at some point they will. The picture of this remote is below. Please comment on your opinion of how this remote will turn out.

Fame on the Radio

Some of you might already know this but I just found this out a few days ago. While playing Grand Theft Auto 4 I turned on one of the featured radio stations on the game. While listening to one of the talk stations I recognized a familiar voice and while researching it alittle I found out a lot things. First of all the familiar voice I heard was Jason Sudeikis, as well as Bill Hader and Fred Armisen all from the TV show Saturday Night Live appered on the radio. Comedians Katt Williams, Ricky Gervais, Jim Norton, Patrice Oneal, Rick Shapiro, and Robert Kelly also appear in the game either on the Radio or as themselves in the game.

OnLive= The Future of Gaming?

If you didn't already know OnLive is a program that can either go for your PC/laptop or TV. Onlive is supposed to be the concept of a one console for all games idea. What OnLive does is allow you to get any game new or old with high graphics for any type of computer. So you can play a game like Killzone 2 on a crappy/slow computer and you will still have the same high resolution game that you played on your console, and the game wouldn't even have any lag. Now to have this you need a Onlive Console which is $300 (cheaper then most consoles) and is small enough to fit in your pocket. I'm still very skeptical about it even though it sounds like it could be revolutionary even though I don't think it will be. I think this because for this to work correctly you need a high speed Internet connection which not everybody has. Even though they say otherwise, I think that there will be lag and even though you are supposed to save all your games on the computer without any problems I'm sure that some how they will be erased or someone would even hack into the system and mess around with every ones files. There are plenty of things that could go wrong. Even though OnLive could all work out, i don't think it will ruin consoles just yet.

A Suprisingly Good Looking Game

X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE

Now this game based on the soon to be released movie actually looks really good. I'm not usually pulled toward superhero based games or even games based on movies due to them sucking most of the time. But after recently seeing the trailer for the game, I was pretty amazed how good the game looked with all of its cinematic moments and great graphics. As of right now I don't know how the game is going to turn out, but if it's going to be as good as the trailer then it's going to be really really good.

Half-Life Movie?

Now it has been rumored that the 2001 hit game Half-Life from Valve Studios is becoming a movie. Even though the rumors haven't been fully backedup yet the supposed director of this movie is going to be Quentin Tarantino which should make it interesting if the movie does follow through. Since everything is pretty much on the down low, the plot or cast has not been said. The game turned movie is rumored to be released sometime in 2010.

NEW Left 4 Dead DLC News

It wasn't to long ago that Valve announced that they were going to release new playable content for their hit game Left 4 Dead. Since then they have slowly been releasing small amounts of information. Now the DLC has supposedly been announced to be released on April 21. This content will include the new Survival Mode, and what this mode does is constantly release more and more hordes of zombies at you until you die and the amount of time it took you die is recorded. Depending on what your time is calculates what kind of medal (Bronze, Silver, Gold) you will receive. You will have 16 levels to play on Survival Mode. This DLC will also include Death Toll and Dead Air to be available for Versus Mode. No extra weapons or types of zombies have been announced yet so we will have to wait to see. All of this has been announced to be for FREE, which is a fantastic deal.

Call of Duty: WaW/ Map Pack 1 Review

The newly released map pack for Call of Duty: World at War has been released. This map pack includes 3 new maps for online play on team deathmatch and Search and Destroy(both available in hardcore modes), as well as a mode called team objective which includes a variety of different game modes. Even though the new maps are separate from the other maps, they won't be for long. Along with the new maps there is also the 1 not so new map for the Nazi Zombie game mode. Now I say not so new because the map is the already available map Asylum now called Verruckt, but it has had some new features added in such as some SHOCKING surprises. Also it has soda machines where you get soda's that give you new kinds of upgrades. Now this map is a little more difficult than the old one because there are alot more zombies now popping out of the ground, the map is bigger and definitely more confusing. There is also a creepy little voice that commentates every time you get an upgrade. Now back to the 3 new maps, those maps include: 1. Station, 2: Knee Deep, and 3: Nightfire. All these maps are large and fun in their own unique ways. They all include nice little sniper and camping spots. I enjoyed these maps very much, but if you're not very into the multiplayer on Call of Duty: World at War you might want to hold off on getting this map pack. But also remember that the Makin-day map is available for a free download so give it a try. SCORE: 4/5

Resident Evil 5 review

In this new installment in the Resident Evil series you are once again introduced to old character Chris Redfield and new partner Sheva Alomar which brings co-op into the game. The game has just as many infected citizens as ever due to a virus called the Uroboros virus. The game now takes place in the fictional African town known as Kijuju. Even though the game will not scare you, towards the end it will definitely get you aggravated which is in Resident Evil tradition. The game is still incredibly fun with fun gameplay, amazing graphics, a wide arsenal of weapons, huge boss battles varying from chainsaw weilding maniacs to a dude infected by the Uroboros virus which causes him to turn into a large worm/tentacle like creature. Even though the game is good there are still problems with it. Some would include the fact that you can't move and shoot at the same time as well as reload and move at the same time which can cause many deathes. You also have very limited space in your inventory which causes you to put some of your stuff into your partner Sheva's inventory which leads me to my next issue, Sheva. Sheva is probably the most stupid AI I've ever played with. Dont give her any good guns because she will waste all your ammo shooting at an enemy but rarely ever hitting him. She will also get herself killed very easily so you will have to keep an eye on her constantly. So you might want to play online or with a friend. Even though the game has its problems it is definitely worth the money and if you're a little skeptical about it, give it a rent first. SCORE: 4/5

QUESTION

Hey, I have a question that i have looked every where for and I still don't have the answer for. Even though it isn't about a game, this movie title is driving me crazy. I remember only few aspects of the movie. I think the ending scene there is a party going on or something and what the kids think are there parents cut into a cake and green slime kind of oozes out of the cake and one of the kid screams and the movie ends. I also know that at some point these kids parents disappeared or were kidnapped and were trapped in a pod and the kids were in some kind of weird town, and that's all I know. If you think you know what the movie is please comment, thank you.
