Fallout 3 Broken Steel DLC Review

****MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS****
Finally, the 3rd Fallout 3 DLC that everyone has been waiting for has arrived and it's pretty good. First of all, everyone has been saying that this DLC is longer than the previous two DLCs released and I have to disagree. With the level cap now being raised to 30, definitely will have you back in the Capitol Wasteland for a long, long time. But quest wise, the amount of time it took me to finish the new quests that came with Broken Steel took me about the same time it took me to finish the other DLCs like The Pitt. While Operation Anchorage and The Pitt started with you answering to a distress call from an unknown location, you have to start Broken Steel by loading a saved game from sometime near the end. Once completing the game you wake up two weeks later to be greeted by Elder Lyons, but I wont give to much away. The basic point of this DLC is to wipe out the Enclave completely and you'll meet up with some old friends along the way such as Liberty Prime and Fawkes (if you chose for him to come with you). There are a total of three action-packed main quests, a few side quests and some quests in which you can choose to find and bring things back in return for some caps. There are some new weapons like the Heavy Incinerator and Tesla Cannon. Along with some new enemies like the tough Feral Ghoul Reavers. Along with the new level cap come some new perks and by some I mean a lot. But my personal favorite is called Puppies!. If your pooch companion Dogmeat died sometime in your journey then you can travel and find a fresh batch of puppies! waiting for you outside Vault 101. Broken Steel is definitely worth a buy for any Fallout 3 fan and the addition of the increased level cap should keep you coming back for more.

SCORE: 4.5/5
